Modern McDonald's - Perfect for a Stakeout

Saturday morning the 7th my suitcase was packed. I showered and did my makeup. Around 630am, I was ready to grab my wallet and pick up some coffee before my dad and I drove out to California for my half marathon. Only problem – my wallet wasn’t here. In my infinite wisdom and attention to detail, I failed to grab my wallet from the restaurant we went to the previous night. Which had my drivers’ license and all of my methods of payment in it. Several frantic phone calls and one failed DMV visit later, my dad and I were staking out the restaurant hoping that someone would show up early.
He needed food and I needed caffeine, so we took a break from our stake-out to go to one of the only places open at that hour – McDonalds. Knowing that, if we were even able to retrieve my wallet, we would be hauling butt on the road and I would miss countless opportunities for review stops, I figured I may as well check out their bathrooms.

This McDonald’s is in North Scottsdale, which is a pretty nice area of town. It was very obvious that this was one of the more recently renovated locations. It really just looked like my personal aesthetic preference. Dark colors throughout with random pops of red – I thought it was awesome.

This bathroom had two stalls – one accessible and one smaller one. The accessible stall had a baby changing station available and yes, toilet seat covers. With a rather interesting dispenser might I add.

Honestly there isn’t much more to add. Very clean bathroom, pretty modern. A solid place to stop.
So – Let’s Break It Down
Cleanliness
5/5 If not perfect, it’s pretty darn close.
Smell
3/5 No actual scent noted here
Stock
4/5 Seemed to be pretty adequate – nothing to suggest otherwise
Space
4/5 Nice size overall, but given typical McDonald’s foot traffic, you would think they might have more space for a line
Lighting
3/5 It was decently lit, but could have been a bit brighter
Environment
4/5 Pretty good for a fast food stop, especially one that typically has hit-or-miss locations
'Wow' Factor
3/5 I really liked the modern look of this place.
So out of the potential 35 total, McDonalds on Cactus’ women’s restroom came in at a decent 26. This is absolutely a decent place to stop if you are running in the area, in random need, wondering if you need to use the facility there rather than somewhere else, or performing a restaurant stake-out like I was.
