Pre-Mothers' Day Dinner at Seasons 52

Knowing I was going to spend Mothers’ Day running 13.1 miles in California, I wanted to take my mom to dinner before the Big Day in order to celebrate her and how amazingly epic she is. Because really, she is. I was unsure about even doing the race (and don’t you worry, I definitely have bathroom reviews to share from that trip), but she insisted that I go in order to complete the race challenge I had been training for.

So the Sunday before Mothers’ Day, my boyfriend and I took mom to dinner at Seasons 52 – a seasonally inspired restaurant located within the Biltmore Fashion Park. For those not as familiar with the area, the Biltmore is pretty swanky (by my standards). It’s not suit-and-tie fancy, but I would feel odd going there in jeans.

The food and service were just awesome. I’ve probably had better steak elsewhere, but it was pretty darn good. As with most nice-r restaurants, the lighting was pretty muted with darker colors throughout the place. After we all devoured our appetizers, main entrees, and the small desserts offered, I excused myself to go get some work done.

I had to flag down one of the people working there since I had a hard time identifying which direction to head down in order to find the bathrooms. He directed me down the hall to where it was located.

Upon walking it, it was much brighter in comparison to the overall darkness of the restaurant. Reading the actual sign on the door from the outside shows how dark it was, versus how light the bathroom was in comparison.

It didn’t actually smell like anything, good or bad. It just smelled like a regular room; which, obviously, is much better than it actually smelling bad. So no complaints here. I had to awkwardly wait around in one of the stalls for the other person in there to finish washing her hands and primping so I could have the entire place to myself for pictures (again, I don’t take pictures if there’s anyone else in there).

The stall I was waiting in had some toilet paper on the ground and some grate next to the toilet, but that was the biggest mess I noted in the whole bathroom. The locks on the door were actually pretty sturdy, plus there was an additional lock on the handle.

It had three regular stalls, and one accessible stall. The accessible stall had another door in it secured with a keypad. I assume that was most likely some type of storage closet for sanitation/janitorial equipment rather than an actual access point from another side. At least one would hope. This stall also included the baby changing station.

General stock seemed pretty good, especially for the hand towels next to the actual mirror.

So – Let’s Break It Down

Cleanliness

4/5 There was some miscellaneous paper product trash on the floor, but otherwise was pretty clean

Smell

3/5 No actual scent noted. Could be way worse, but also could be better

Stock

4/5 Pretty well stocked

Space

4/5 The size of the bathroom itself was pretty good. Individual stalls were a big snug, but the accessible stall was quite large

Lighting

3/5 Lighting was much brighter in contrast to the rest of the restaurant, but still pretty dim

Environment

4/5 It matched with the ambiance and was overall a ‘nice’ bathroom. Certainly would always feel comfortable using this.

'Wow' Factor

3/5 No particular ‘wow’ factor here. It was pretty on-par for a restaurant, but it was overall nice

So out of the potential 35 total, Season 52’s women’s restroom came in at 25. Seasons 52 is a great restaurant and if you need to use or stop by the restroom, you definitely are safe using theirs.
