Tucson Post! In-N-Out off the I-10

I have a confession to make, and it’ll probably make me very unpopular.

I’m not a huge fan of In-N-Out Burger. I know, it’s blasphemy.

But a lot of my friends absolutely love it, so sometimes I feel like I should stop by and get it whenever I’m driving through Tucson. I made it there on a Sunday night around 10pm. This one is right off the freeway – not actually in the heart of Tucson.

I had been driving for already about five hours, so I stopped for gas and then headed straight to In-N-Out for the bathroom.

What I found was about what you could expect for a fast food joint just off a major interstate where people are generally doing longer road trips. Fortunately it doesn’t look like they limit their bathrooms to strictly customers. Although if you’re at an In-N-Out just for the bathroom, you’re probably lying. Even if you don’t like their food, somehow you still end up getting something.

For those of you who really do like In-N-Out or at least the smell of burgers, you’ll be happy to note that you don’t lose that scent when you go into the bathroom.

This one has three stalls total – two regular, and one large enough to be accessible. A sliding lock is used to secure each bathroom stall.

The main thing I noticed was the issue of trash. While there was no trash on the floors, you could definitely see that the individual trash cans and the larger trash can near the sink were full and getting close to overfilling.

Fortunately I had enough toilet paper in my stall, but the supply was dwindling down. It seems like In-N-Out is always busy, and they still had about three hours of customers to come through still.

The flushing system, sinks and hand dryers were all motion-sensing, so there at least is less surface contact in such a high-trafficked bathroom which is always nice to see. Otherwise, it is a pretty standard bathroom.

So – Let’s Break It Down

Cleanliness

3/5 Nothing looked visibly dirty, but trashes were close to overfilling.

Smell

4.5/5 It smelled like burgers and fries. Enough said.

Stock

2/5 They were running pretty low on toilet paper. Since it’s a bathroom, this is a critical violation area.

Space

3/5 The main area was sufficiently large for its purpose. The stalls themselves were long/deep

Lighting

4/5 Pretty well-lit

Environment

4/5 Nothing shattering about the environment. But there are people who love In-N-Out, and the location is convenient.

'Wow' Factor

2/5 No wow-factor here – be it good or bad.

So out of the potential 35 total, Tucson’s In-N-Out Burger’s women’s restroom came in at 22.5. The bathroom overall serves as a good pit stop, though there is concern about restocking and trash that could potentially spill over.

But let’s be honest. If you’re stopping at In-N-Out, it’s probably not just for the bathroom.
